With the 2026/27 production season underway, K4 is expected to make a significant contribution to Tanzania's sugar self-sufficiency ambitions.
Morogoro, 5 August 2026 . Kilombero Sugar Company Limited (KSCL) is participating in the National Nane Nane Agricultural Exhibition in Dodoma and the zonal exhibition in Morogoro, showcasing the transformative impact of its strategic investment of K4 Factory.
The investment has significantly enhanced the Company's production capacity, reinforcing its contribution to Tanzania's drive towards sugar self-sufficiency while supporting the country's broader agricultural and industrial development agenda.
Speaking at the ongoing Nane Nane Agricultural Exhibition in Morogoro, Kilombero Sugar Commercial and Supply Chain Director, Mr. Fimbo Butala, said the Company continues to make strategic investments that strengthen production capacity, improve operational efficiency, and create lasting value across Tanzania's sugar industry, agricultural sector and the national economy.
He noted that the commissioning of the K4 Factory marks a significant milestone in Kilombero Sugar's growth journey, substantially increasing domestic sugar production, improving the availability of locally produced sugar and supporting the Government's vision of reducing reliance on sugar imports.
"This investment demonstrates our unwavering commitment to expanding local production through modern technology and operational excellence to meet the growing demand for sugar in Tanzania. Equally important, it has created greater opportunities for sugarcane outgrowers by increasing demand for cane, stimulating economic activity and improving livelihoods within the communities surrounding our operations," said Mr. Butala.
Speaking about the Company's participation in this year's Nane Nane Exhibition, Mr. Butala said Kilombero Sugar is showcasing its flagship Bwana Sukari brand to give farmers, consumers and other stakeholders an opportunity to experience the product firsthand and learn more about its quality, reliability and the wide range of pack sizes available to meet both household and commercial needs.
He added that the exhibition provides an invaluable platform for engaging directly with farmers, customers and key stakeholders, exchanging ideas and demonstrating Kilombero Sugar's continued commitment to advancing Tanzania's agricultural transformation.
