Specific Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensures that all operations are carried out as per the ISO 9001: 2000 Quality Management System at Kilombero Sugar to achieve the quality standards.
- Performs all tasks according to Kilombero Sugar’s Quality, Safety, Health and Environment policies and procedures.
- Take reasonable care for the health and safety of self and other persons who may be affected by what you do or do not do.
- Co-operate with the management team to enable them to perform their duties under the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
- Record and capture incoming works order requisitions and opening job cards.
- Closes wage returns for all Estate Maintenance junior staff through Cane-pro.
- Capture Stores Requisition and submit to manager for approval as assigned.
- Prepare Productivity reports through Maximo system.
- Responsible for all Civil offices cleaning and ensure surroundings are maintained in proper condition.
- Keep proper records for incoming and issued Civil materials.
Job Qualification and Experience
- Certificate or Diploma of records and archival management.
- Computer certificate would be an added advantage.
- Minimum 1 year working experience in Maintenance planning and recording (EAM).
- Computer literacy, proficient with MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to plan and organize work and resources.
- Good communication skills.

To ensure the correct volume and quality of all effluent leaving the Wastewater Treatment Plant meets those dictated by Tanzanian Specifications.

To ensure the correct volume and quality of all effluent leaving the Wastewater Treatment Plant meets those dictated by Tanzanian Specifications.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
- Monitors the performance of the WWTP on a continual shift basis using on-plant measurements to produce the required quantity and quality of effluent
- Makes adjustments and alterations to the process variables in conjunction with the Production Team Lead, to ensure that the WWTP is operating as per procedure to produce the required effluent quantity of the desired specification.
- Solves process problems and deviations by taking the appropriate corrective action to meet throughput and quality targets.
- Monitors plant profiles after analysis and take corrective action to maintain effluent quality. Captures required data on log sheets.
- Conducts visual checks and inspections of the WWTP and associated utilities.
- Together with the Production Team Lead, diagnose the cause of problems/breakdowns by troubleshooting.
- Calibrates the dosage rate of chemicals in the WWTP on an adhoc basis to ensure that usage is within budget.
- Responsible for shutting down and starting up the WWTP as per procedure.
- Adheres to safety procedures, maintains the plants housekeeping, quality and environmental standards.
- Trains, as required, plant personnel on the operations within the WWTP.
- Takes on the role of a safety watch during plant shutdowns after hours to ensure that personnel (especially contractors) adhere to the company’s safety standards.
- Ensure that all treatment processes (physical, chemical, biological) are functioning correctly to meet environmental regulations.
- Carries out any other duties relating to the plant.
- Diploma in Environmental Technology, Water Quality, or Wastewater Technology certification or a related field.
- Advanced Level Certificate with Mathematics and Science
- Basic math, chemistry, and biology knowledge will add the advantages
- 1-2 years of experience working in wastewater treatment plants or related environments..
- Experience in fertiliser business development or sales is preferred and an added advantage
