As a joint venture between the Government of Tanzania and Illovo Sugar Africa, our shareholders are critical to our success. The Kilombero Growers are one of our essential stakeholders as they supply the sugarcane to our mills which we then process into sugar. We have established long-term relationships with our growers based on mutual respect and trust. We endeavor to ensure a sustainable relationship with them through close collaboration to ensure that they receive the support they need to produce high-quality sugarcane. In order to achieve the above, the company has made intentional initiatives to upscale the Grower Development Affairs Department to ensure that it has the right capacity at the right time to support our growers. The team is now able to provide the growers with best management practices in sugarcane growing by equipping them with necessary training and technical support, to help our growers adopt sustainable farming practices so that they can increase their yields, earn a fair return on their investment while also minimize their environmental impact. We believe that through these initiatives we will strive together for shared prosperity as well as ensure a sustainable business for many years to come.
