Job Purpose.

The successful candidate will partner with the operations team to drive operational excellence across the business by coordinating the management of planning & scheduling across operations for normal, abnormal & capital activities for both seasons and off crop.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities;

Job Qualification and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical or mechanical engineering or equivalent

Job Purpose
The successful candidate will provide direction, technical guidance and leadership in crop production and removal to ensure alignment with the strategic plan and sustainable long-term growth through interface with Optimisation and Agric Engineering. They will lead the crop estimating and production planning processes and interfaces in driving effective harvest planning and crop establishment.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Drive operational excellence by making informed trade-offs and driving initiatives that will deliver the greatest possible yields at optimal cost and quality levels
  • Adopt and embed agreed best practices, frameworks, minimum standards and processes for all aspects of crop production (and removal where relevant)
  • With Group CoE’s identify best practices (internal & external) and review policies and procedures to improve yield and financial performance. 
  • Contribute to reviewing Standards and operating procedures to sustainably improve yield and financial performance.
  • Achieve yield forecasts (together with farm supervisors), ensuring that farming (and crop removal where relevant) activities are prioritised and planned in a systematic and cost-effective way to optimise profitability.
  • Provide alignment between Crop Production Farms plans and Factory production Crush plans to achieve budget cane volumes and quality in line with S&OP
  • Coordinate and approve annual crop production and harvest plans with farm managers, including crop establishment and husbandry across estate.
  • Develop, monitor and manage cane production budget and resource plan, with inputs from farm managers and service departments.
  • Drive rigorous performance management, biased towards rewarding strong performance and compliance with critical behaviours, and including managing consequences where required.
  • Develop and implement a programme to Identify and address problems and improvement opportunities with Farm Managers
  • Identify and implement sustainability initiatives such land and water conservation to prevent soils erosion, soil degradation, pollution and invasive weeds and to improve water footprint and quality,

Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture / Agricultural Development / Agricultural Engineering.
  • 10 years of experience in sugar cane agriculture and crop removal, including a minimum of 5 years in agricultural operations or in a technical advisory/subject specialist role at a middle-management level, responsible for a minimum of 3000ha.
  • Proven track record of effectively developing and implementing strategies through managing budgets, people and resources to meet business KPIs.
  • Good business acumen and agricultural expertise, with the ability to anticipate, interpret and respond to changes impacting all aspects of crop management.
  • A formal business/commercial qualification would be an advantage.
  • Strong agriculture data analysis skills.

Job Purpose
The successful candidate will be responsible to perform proper analysis at reasonable amount of chemicals, ensure the equipment’s used are operating reliably and in an efficient manner.

Specific Job Responsibilities:
  • The Laboratory Analyst ensure proper analyzing of boiler water, water treatment and water tower samples by following the procedure of each sample as per Laboratory Manual procedures.
  • The Laboratory Analyst ensure proper reagent/chemical used for specific sample and reporting the expired reagent/chemical to laboratory Technician.
  • The Laboratory Analyst ensure that the KPI are within their operating range by report this to his/her Laboratory technician.
  • The Laboratory Analyst ensure the out specific range data is filled to non-conformance sheet as per working instruction and raise the Incident Report
  • The Laboratory Analyst needs to ensure good housekeeping on the laboratory station. The walkway needs to be free of any hazard. Spillage and leaks need to be addressed as far as possible or reported and tagged. Cleaning of the station is to be done when necessary while ensuring that analysis is not interfered.
  • The Laboratory Analyst is responsible for inspecting the instruments work with and report any damage observed.
  • The analyst ensure he is taking reasonable care for the health and safety of yourself and other persons who may be affected by what you do or do not do.
  • The analyst ensures reporting of any incident that may affect his/her health, or which has caused an injury to him, or impacted on the environment, He must report such incident to the superior not later than the end of the particular shift during which the incident occurred.
  • Analyst is responsible to perform all tasks with “awareness” towards the prevention of any forms of pollution to the surrounding and environment.
  • The Laboratory Analyst needs to ensure a proper handing over at the end of his/her shift.
Minimum Job Requirements:
  • Form Six (Science) or equivalent Laboratory Assistant Cours
  •   Minimum 1year of experience in a similar job
  •  Experience in sugar laboratory procedures will be an added advantage.

Job Purpose 
The successful candidate will be responsible for boiler Controls from DCS to ensure essential operational and safety Parameters are within range to assure adequate steam flow.

Specific job responsibilities: 
  • Keep boiler operation parameters within specifications and consistent to enhance boiler long life.
  • Keep boilers available at 45bars to guarantee steam & power generation and exportation to stakeholders.
  • Control steam pressure, flow, water qualities and monitor all boiler performance parameters.
  • Understand controls for environmental emissions ie, impacts of blowing safety valve and amount of flue gas out from the chimney.
  • Boiler maintenance during breakdown and off crop and quick fixes on site when necessary.
  • Monitor and react on critical alarms, communicate abnormal deviations/condition to the immediately concerned personnel.
