Job Purpose
We are looking for Fleet Controller (Cane Supply) to Implement the Country’s cane supply strategy to ensure long term continuity of optimum cane production by all Growers, Implement and drive relevant Kilombero Agriculture Ways and related standards in cane supply, Monitor and control cane quality and the delays between harvesting and crushing and Maintain positive relationships with Growers by keeping them updated / informed of Mill status.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Complete cane haulage vehicle conformance checklist prior to vehicle activation for cane
  • delivery.
  • Liaise with grower and/or haulier supervisors to gather information on available and collectible cane stocks for input into cane logistics system and loader availability by field.
  • Capture and perform hourly checks on available and collectible cane stocks into the cane logistics system for all harvesting sites.
  • Interact with cane haulage drivers on taring out and issuing scheduling tickets.
  • Monitor all cane haulage vehicle statuses to detect supply risks at any given point in time.
  • Gather information on field conditions and update information on the system and report to relevant stakeholders.
  • Gather information on vehicle breakdowns and estimated time of arrival via mobile/telephone.
  • Liaise with hauliers on vehicle breakdowns within mill vicinity for immediate action.
  • Monitor and ensure that vehicle statuses in cane logistics system represent the true situation on the ground.
  • Liaise with mill personnel on supply risks and advise on sustainable crush rates given the status of supply as dictated by weather, field and road conditions as well as other emerging road transport challenges.
  • Report network and polycomp board connectivity issues as well as cane logistics system downtime immediately to IT standby and cane logistics system support team for troubleshooting.

Minimum Requirements:
  • A ‘Level certificate or equivalent.

  • Computer literacy with good understanding of fleet management systems.

Job Purpose
The Irrigation Team Lead is responsible for controlling and coordinating the quality of irrigation operations and assists management in the development of irrigation plans to ensure long-term growth development and sustainability as well as Implement the “ABF Way of sugar cane production” to ensure Illovo is the best-in-class sugar producer in the Country.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Supervise irrigation activities, through the inspection of irrigation lines/furrows on each field given to each individual
  • Controls work performance by recording daily attendance, irrigation cycles, irrigation scheduling and pressure monitoring
  • Ensure that work standards are adhered to by allocating task to his/her gang and recording man-days used per activity

Job Purpose
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the foreign exchange exposure, liquidity, interest rate and applicable compliance risks associated with all treasury aspects for the Financial Controller. The Treasury Officer must design and utilize tools to anticipate, communicate and mitigate these risks in a timely manner

Specific Duties and Responsibilities
  • Continuously assess the most efficient cash management strategies and advise the Financial Controller and Group Treasury of any required/appropriate changes.
  • Implement and maintain efficient cash management procedures to minimize financing costs by ensuring cash, held in low interest-bearing accounts, is applied against borrowings.
  • Obtain approval from Group Treasury for the opening and closing of bank accounts. Ensure bank accounts remain relevant and fit for purpose to reduce complexity and ensure that any dormant accounts are closed immediately.
  • Ensure bank charges are negotiated and reviewed regularly.
  • Monitor, assess and manage the liquidity risk of the operations by developing and using efficient cash forecasting tools, understanding the economic environment and ensuring adequate headroom is available on short term facilities.
  • Timely communicate pending liquidity risks and implement mitigations to the Financial Controller.
  • Negotiate facilities with banks in conjunction with Group Treasury and Group Legal obtaining final approval before execution.
  • On a continuous basis review and negotiate interest rates with banking counterparties to optimize finance costs.
  • Monitor banking covenants providing early warning and mitigation for potential breaches to the Financial Controller and Group Treasury.
  • Ensure timely repayment of loan capital and interest in accordance with agreements.
