Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

• Deliver agreed equipment calibration plan
• Carry out agreed monitoring, sampling & analysis routines to identify & escalate non-conformances in a timely manner.
• Ensures the TA together with factory utilities availability is always at maximum to meet operational demand.
• Close relationship and communication with operation team to enable timely troubleshooting of equipment breakdown.
• Clear communication with other maintenance partner (maintenance planner, CBM, instrument, electrical and operational) personnel to ensure maximum plant availability.
• Plan and implement preventive maintenance as per SOP and the maintenance strategy.
• Adhere to maintenance best practices as per Illovo IAMP practices.
• Proper control of maintenance tools.
• Adhere to Abf's safety standards.

Minimum Job requirements:

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics engineering or equivalent
• Minimum 2years of experience in maintenance of high-speed machines
• Experience in a sugar factory, water reticulation, fire system and compressed air will be an added advantage.

Job Purpose
To supervise and monitor farm activities, assist management in the development of farm plans that ensure long-term growth, development and sustainability. Assess risks and drive continuous improvement, train and mentor the team and manage their performance against minimum standards.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Supervise all farming activities, timing and quality standards related to cane production.
• Execute and supervise farm resource and activity plans.

• Carryout inspections and activity assessments and submit reports to management.
• Maintain discipline within the team and report any identified risks to management.
• Keep daily record of farm activity data for capturing into cane Pro.
• Assist management in monitoring labor requirement in line with farm plan.
• Implement continuous improvement practices by monitoring work practices and ensuring that tools and techniques are applied to deliver high quality sugar cane.
• Develop skills within the team through on-the-job coaching and mentoring.
• Conduct on the job training and instruction on various farm activities.
• Monitoring and execution of farm activities by service provides to ensure compliance with standards.

Minimum Requirements:

• Certificate in Agriculture 
• 3+ years’ experience in sugar cane agriculture
• Experience with leading teams and resource allocation.
• Knowledge in basic computer software, Computer Literate with excellent command of MS Office
• Good leadership and communication skills

Job Purpose 
The successful candidate will be responsible to monitor all boilers and turbine, bagasse handling, and conveyors to ensure all equipment and machines are running in optimal condition and executes involved level of maintenance work on assemblies / sub-assemblies in the mechanical system of boilers and powerhouse equipment.

Specific Duties and responsibilities.

• Ensuring monitoring of boiler equipment, conveyors and all associated equipment are running smoothly.
• Communicating with the Control Room Operator or Foreman and exchanging information on the physical plant status and engaging on options/ solutions based on plant knowledge that can be applied to address faults and failures or deviations in the operating parameters.
• Implementing solutions and monitoring the outcomes and providing feedback on the plant status to the Control Room or Foreman.
• Avoid unnecessary downtime by reporting any abnormalities to allow preventive maintenance.
• Performs all tasks according to Kilombero Sugar’s Safety, Quality, Health and Environment policies and procedures.
• Maintain the house keeping at all the time during the shift.
• Carry out root cause analysis of simple non-conformances & propose actions.
• Ensure all pressure readings are readable from respective pressure gauges and read correctly.
• Report any pipe or tube leak to Foreman immediately and record it for corrective action.
• Always attend bagasse feeder to maintain steam pressure.
• Together with the Steam and power Foreman, Control room operator and site Operators/Attendant, diagnose the cause of problems/breakdowns by applying the necessary problem-solving tools, e.g. 5Why, Fishbone etc.
• Make regular inspections of ash hoppers and nodding ducts to improve boiler effectiveness.
• Make regular inspections of the ash sluicing systems to ensure that they are effectively sealed.
• Ensure water flows properly through ash hoppers and nodding ducts gutters.
• Assess combustion condition and bagasse level on furnace bed by opening furnace inspection windows regularly and communicate over/underfeeding with Boiler Control Room Operator.
• Ensure the grate chain drive is running well and smoothly by frequent checks on the motor speed and output coupling movement.
• Ensure availability of enough bagasse by frequently visiting and inspecting the situation in the bagasse house and advise the Foreman for correct action in case the bagasse house is getting full or running out of bagasse.
• Maintain high steam pressure whenever the mill stops by checking the bagasse house to ensure back feeding is being done effectively to avoid low steam pressure/ LTA.
• Monitor the movements of the tractors and front loader during the shift by logging down running hours in logbook.
• Ensure the fire hydrants and fire hose boxes are not covered by accumulated bagasse and ready for use.
• Ensure the condensate level is high.
• Record production data and any other required information on appropriate log sheet and logbook.
• Conducting inspections i.e. visual checks of the operating equipment to detect deviations by been alert to abnormal sounds, surface heat, etc. and proceeding with completing inspection checklists or verbally communicating with the Powerhouse Technician or Foreman on the findings.
• Executing maintenance related activities involving inspecting, stripping, fault finding, repairing or replacing, aligning and assembling of parts/ units of an assembly or complete assemblies with integrated arrangements in the mechanical system of Boilers and Powerhouse equipment.
• Monitoring and communicating activity related information to the cleaners in terms of areas to be cleaned, disposal procedure, etc.

Job Purpose
The Irrigation Team Lead is responsible for controlling and coordinating the quality of irrigation operations and assists management in the development of irrigation plans to ensure long-term growth, development and sustainability.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

• Supervise irrigation activities, through the inspection of irrigation lines/furrows on each field given to each individual
• Controls work performance by recording daily attendance, irrigation cycles, irrigation scheduling and pressure monitoring
• Ensure that work standards are adhered to by allocating task to his/her gang and recording man-days used per activity
• Responsible for safeguarding the crop by reporting any unusual occurrences i.e. fire, floods, smut, weeds, pests in the field, theft etc.
• Manage team performance and conduct
• Ensure irrigation lines have been placed in the correct locations by physical inspection of all irrigation lines after every shift
• Ensure complete number of irrigation equipment to comply with field geographical position by taking field inventory and Ensure irrigation lines are shifted as per set standards
• Ensure good system arrangement to stabilize overlap uniformity by ensuring correct spacing of irrigation lines and use of correct irrigation equipment e.g. sprinkler and nozzles etc.
• Conduct on the job training and instruction on various farm activities
• Responsible for irrigation equipment inventory and submits inventory reports to the farm supervisor
• Promote and adhere to Illovo’s procedures, policies and guidelines, including, without limitation, those relating to SHERQ, Competition Law and Anti-Bribery and Corruption (ABC)

Minimum Requirements:

• Certificate in Agriculture or related
• 2 – 3 years in Sugarcane agriculture
• Experience with leading teams and resource allocation
• Good leadership skills
• Good communication skills

Job Purpose
The successful candidate will be responsible for Electrical services and trouble shooting at Factories in manufacturing Department.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities

• Carries out maintenance and repairs electrical breakdowns and troubleshooting at Factory during crushing season.
• Inspection of Turbo Alternators operation
• Repairs all electrical instruments during crushing season and offcrop
• Attend all breakdowns of machines and systems all over the factory during crushing season.
• Able to read standard electrical drawings.
• Able to prepare motor starters and troubleshooting
• Monitor the performance of the electrical equipment.
• Ensures safe and standard servicing of motors and welding machine
• Able to fill Power generation logbooks on daily basis
• Cooperate with boiler operators to ensure good boiler operation
• Effective communication with others.
• Inspects machine condition and safety before starting up.
• Ensure safety of people and machines.
• Reports defects of electrical equipment after inspection.

Qualifications And Experience

•  At least form IV certificate accompanied/vocational training, electrical trade test grade III and above.
• Extensive knowledge in Electric circuits reading and interpreting, faults tracing and rectification.
• Extensive knowledge in electrical machinery, running behaviors, safety and lock out procedures
• 2+ years’ experience working in electrical jobs in manufacturing industry.
• Mentally and physically fit.
• Ready to work abnormal hours.
