Job Purpose
Kikonyo Nursery Team Leader will be responsible for overseeing all Planting, Growing, Dispatch and transplanting of the high-quality output speeding.

The Kikonyo nursery team leaders are responsible for overseeing all production aspects in a particular phase of the speedlings production, that are: Germination team leader, Growing team leader, and Dispatch & transplanting team leader. This role ensures the production of high-quality planting material, adherence to best agronomic practices, and the successful distribution of healthy sugarcane seedlings to the company fields by adopting and improving efficient team management skills.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Trays and crates cleaning using water pressure machine
  • Receive the substrates from factory – Bagasse and filter mud - and rice husks from local rice machines
  • Sieve the Bagasse and filter mud
  • Carbonize the rice husks
  • Store the prepared single substrates before mixing
  • Mix the substrates in the precise ratio
  • Store mixed substrate
  • Fill the trays with mixed substrate
  • Receive seed cane from the field
  • Distribute seed cane in the bud cutting machines
  • Run the bud cutting machines
  • Collect the cut stalks in the bud cutting machines area, and place it in the conveyor in the trailer to the mill

Job Purpose
The Sugarcane Nursery supervisor is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the management, and operations of a sugarcane nursery. This role ensures the production of high-quality planting material, adherence to best agronomic practices, and the successful distribution of healthy sugarcane seedlings to the company fields. The supervisor will work closely with agricultural teams, research specialists, and other related stakeholders to optimize nursery results and contribute to the success of sugarcane cultivation operations.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate, support and develop the team leaders in each phase of the speedlings production
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and protocols for nursery operations
  • Plan, establish, and maintain sugarcane speedling production under high-yielding, disease-free planting materials

We are seeking a Pumphouse Chemigation Operator who will be responsible for Overseeing the efficient operation, maintenance, and supervision of irrigation and fertilization systems in the Kikonyo nursery.

Job Purpose:
To ensure lime and flocculent preparation and its availability for both juice and mud preparation, monitor all associated equipment for lime and flocculent preparation following procedure and good practice and ensuring that operations are running optimally.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Lime and Flocculent preparation must be done following technical operating practices and procedures to achieve standards set for good performance.

  • Ability to diagnose machine/lubricant temperature and oil quality in the system.
  • Basic skills to be able to assemble and install various type of high-speed mechanical equipment.
Terms of Service: The successful candidate will be engaged on a Permanent contract.
